Our Vision.
Project Preemie is dedicated to supporting families with children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the medical professionals who care for them.
We want to lessen the burden on preemie families, offer resources for family and friends supporting them, and recognize the medical teams that care for them... so more space can be opened to celebrate each family's tiny miracle.
From founders Pam & Nicholas Frasco...
Having a premature baby can happen to anyone. It can happen to you or someone you know. It can be a very isolating and confusing... and after it happens, the way of life as you know it changes instantly. As parents of two babies born prematurely, we have experienced everything that comes along with bringing a baby into the world too soon.
Project Preemie was born out of the love and support of friends, family and the need and desire to give back to the community that meant so much to our family during several months of our lives. During two stints in the NICU after having our sons Santino at 31.5 weeks and Salvatore at 30.5 weeks, we were fortunate enough to have lots of shoulders to lean on. Although there were many folks around us, we still felt very alone in our journey. The small tokens of support we received from other parents and organizations in the NICU and preemie communities meant so much that we wanted to expand on that for others. That’s why we are here! To help those going through the experience and recognize those special caregivers that help these miracles grow.
We want to lessen the burden on preemie families, to offer resources for family and friends supporting them, and to recognize the medical teams that care for them... so more space can be opened to celebrate each family's tiny miracle.
