#30DaysofBrave Day 2- Cheryl

Not one word was said between my husband and I as I laid on the table for my emergency c-section. 

Surrounded by what felt like 2 dozen people(I don’t actually know how many), we were scared out of our minds.  Our son was not breathing, until the one of the many moments our medical professionals(our angels) saved his life. 

Hayden had a battle with many different and some rare things like chylothorax, hydrops, NEC, seizures.. just to name a few of the challenges our strong and brave son went through during his 66 day NICU stay between two hospitals. 

I won’t get into details because even though I remember many things so vividly, I also forget some things because 2.5 years has passed now and he’s doing amazing! 

We have had many challenges but when we conquer one, we are so happy and proud of where he has come from. 

If I could say anything to the moms and dads in the NICU and just out of it, take it day by day. 

Each and every step in the coming days, weeks, and months will make you a stronger and better parents for your beautiful, strong, and perfect warrior! 

Celebrate the little things, lean on each other and remember that your nurses and professionals surrounding you really are like family and will take excellent care of your baby.. they are nothing short of AMAZING!!

Take a deep breath, you will get through this, as you are stronger than you even know!
