#30DaysofHope Day 7- Leah

So many emotions -scared, mad, sad, overwhelmed, confused.

After an emergency c-section at 32w3d, our boy/girl twins were taken by a Critical Care Team to Rainbow's Babies and Children's Hospital 20 miles away. After a second emergency surgery, 9 blood transfusions and 2 nights in the ICU, I was finally released and able to meet them 5 days later.

While I had a few friends with kids recently in the NICU, it was all very new to me. The babies were on CPAPs with IVs and so many other wires. Days turned into weeks, isolettes turned into cribs and feeding tubes were removed. After 36 days, they were ready to come home.

Although it’s been 13 months since they were discharged, my heart aches at the thought of the many firsts I missed out on. But I’m also reminded daily how incredibly strong these preemie babies are and I’m a proud mama to warrior twins. #PreemieStrong

To all the NICU mama's out there - you've got this. Your discharge date may seem years away but I promise this chapter of your life is temporary and you will be home soon. "Life is tough darling, but so are you"
