30 Days of Brave | Ford

“My son Ford, was born 12 weeks early when I went into PTL at a hospital without a NICU.

His slogans are “Ford strong” & “built Ford tough”.

He spent 165 days in 3 NICU’s fighting every hurdle that came his way. Ultimately, he had a lot of airway damage, so he came home on that 165th day with a trach & ventilator. He hasn’t stopped fighting. He pushed everyday in PT , OT & Speech.

Today, he’s 3.5 years old, still has his trach & g-tube, but is unstoppable. He’s reaching every milestone. Attends preschool daily in an inclusion classroom setting where he receives speech therapy. He’s happy, healthy, has the biggest personality, stubborn and highly motivated. He never complains about a thing. He has so much zest for life.

When I’m having a bad day, I ask myself “what would Ford do?” Keep fighting!” NICU Mom, Ashley
