"Our NICU journey began on July 21st, 2019 when our daughter Blakely was born. She was born just one day shy of her due date via c-section. She needed some minor respiratory support and we spent 9 days in the NICU. Fast forward to September 13th, 2021, I was 25 weeks pregnant with our son and was admitted to the hospital for pre-term labor due to incompetent cervix. A few days later, on September 18th, labor picked up again and our son Owen was born at 25 weeks & 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 lb 12 ounces and immediately showed the doctors and nurses how feisty he was! After 2 weeks we were transferred to a children’s hospital 3 hours from home. Owen had really sick lungs and learning to breathe on his own was his biggest battle. But he never gave up, fighting every day to survive. After 117 days we finally headed home with our sweet miracle boy!"
