Treylen the Great

On a warm and beautiful day in the city, I began my daily errands to the store, post office, and Walgreens to pick up some quick items. Previously I was experiencing pain from my neck down through the middle of my tummy area. Of course, I thought it was acid reflux because my chest was burning. I tried not to take anything due to my pregnancy, but I called my doctor, and unfortunately, I had to leave a message to see what I could take and if it was severe enough to go into the hospital. Playing it back in my head, I began to receive opinions from everyone, oh, take this, and you will be just fine. You have a little heartburn, and the doctors at the pharmacy can advise you on what to take in. Of course, that's what I did. Two days had gone by, and the pain was still there. I have taken tums and completed a few home remedies, and it began to calm down. Now, back to the errand day. Two people did ask me what my blood pressure was, and I promise I could not tell them, so I decided to follow my first mind and stop at a clinic. Keep in mind my doctor's office still has not called me back.

Well, leaving the clinic on September 20 at 10:30 am, The doctor told me to go straight to the E.R. and let them know that I was 29 weeks pregnant and that they just took my B.P., which was 170/120. Upon my arrival, they took it as well, and it was 200/190 something, and I had no symptoms. They asked me whether I felt well, I told them I only had acid reflux if that was what it was, and that was not why my blood pressure was high. They immediately got me to the O.B.G.Y.N. floor and began running the test. They spent almost 4+ hours trying to get my blood pressure down, and since I was only 29 weeks, there was nothing they could do for me. So, they had to airlift me to Vanderbilt to receive proper treatment.

Once, my arrival - of course, they had to repeat the say thing to ensure they were not missing anything. Hours later, we were told I was experiencing severe preeclampsia, and I was not doing the baby any good being inside of me. Emergency C-section had to be done. There is more to the story, but to make things more extraordinary and truly a blessing to your heart and mind,

Our little guy Treylen the Great was born weighing only 2 pounds. Even through respiratory failure, lungs trying to collapse, and being on the CPAP 3X, he is now home adjusting at three months old, weighing about 9 1/2 pounds to 10 pounds. It was not an easy road in the hospital, and I am so thankful to my family and friends for their prayers. Following my first mind saved our son!
